Arc asks for the most sensitive thing a business has: the reasoning behind its decisions. That earns a higher standard than a security badge in a footer.

The doctrine

No consequential recommendation without evidence, uncertainty, and a condition that would change the conclusion.

This is the commitment the whole product is built around. A system that tells an owner what to do, without showing what it is resting on, is asking for a kind of trust it has not earned and cannot justify. Arc would rather be useful and inspectable than impressive and opaque.

What every recommendation exposes

Ten things, always visible.

Not on request, not buried behind a details link. If Arc cannot show these for a recommendation, it does not make the recommendation.

Sourced facts: Where the observation came from, and when.
Estimates and their method: Labelled as estimates, with how they were arrived at.
Beliefs you supplied: Kept as yours. Never laundered into fact because it would read better.
Model inferences: Marked as inference, not observation.
Contradicting evidence: Shown alongside the supporting evidence, not filtered out.
Missing information: Named explicitly, rather than papered over.
Freshness: How old the underlying evidence is.
Confidence: Stated, with what it rests on.
What would falsify it: The condition that would change the conclusion.
Approval required: What Arc would need your sign-off to do next.

Data

Where things actually stand.

Company Arc is pre-launch. Rather than list certifications we do not hold yet, here is the honest split between what is committed and what is already true.

Commitments Pre-launch

Your data is never used to train models. Not ours, not a provider’s.
Export everything, whenever. In a form you can actually use elsewhere. Nothing about the arrangement will depend on it being hard to leave.
Deletion means deletion, on a stated clock, including from backups.
Permission-aware by design. Arc will only surface to a person what that person is already entitled to see.
Every answer sourced, every retrieval logged. You will be able to see what Arc read to produce an answer.
Specific hosting, encryption and audit commitments will be published on this page before the first paying customer, not after.

If a claim on this page ever stops being true, the page changes. That is the same standard Arc applies to your company’s assumptions.

What Arc will not do

Arc will not act on your business without approval, will not present an estimate as a fact, will not hide contradicting evidence to make an answer cleaner, and will not quietly revise what your company used to believe. Those are not launch-phase caution. They are the reason the product is worth having.
